§ 323 Court to appoint foreman.

When a grand jury is put together, the judge picks one person from the group to serve as foreman. This person leads the grand jury and helps guide its work.

If the foreman is later excused or let go before the grand jury finishes its job, the judge doesn't leave the position empty. Instead, the judge picks a new foreman from the remaining jurors so the group can keep working.
