When prosecutors write up criminal charges, they don't have to copy the exact wording found in the law that defines the crime. They can use different words as long as those words mean the same thing.

This gives some flexibility to how charges are written. As long as the charge clearly communicates what crime someone is accused of committing, small differences in wording from the actual statute won't make the charge invalid. What matters is that the meaning stays the same, not that every word matches exactly.
