When a criminal case gets moved from one court to another, the new court treats it like any other case on its list. The court clerk simply adds it to the docket just like a case that started there.

From that point on, everything works the same as normal. The new court handles all the paperwork, sends out any required notices, and runs the trial exactly as if the case had been filed there from the very beginning. The defendant doesn't lose any rights or face different procedures just because the case was transferred. This rule basically makes sure the change in location doesn't create confusion or extra steps for anyone involved.
