If a judge issues a bench warrant for someone's arrest, that warrant can be enforced anywhere in the state, not just in the county where it was issued. Police in any county can arrest the person using this warrant, following the same steps they'd use for a regular arrest warrant.

There's one difference worth knowing. Normally, when an arrest warrant needs to be used in a different county, a local judge in that county has to sign off on it first. But bench warrants don't need this extra approval. They work across county lines right away, without needing a local judge's signature.

This means if you have a bench warrant out for you, moving to another county won't protect you from arrest. Law enforcement anywhere in the state can act on it immediately.
