§ 471 Short title.

Sections 1 through 12 of this law create the "Oklahoma Drug Court Act." This is simply the official name given to this group of laws. When you see this name mentioned in other parts of the law, it refers back to these same sections.

Drug courts are special court programs designed for people facing criminal charges related to drug use or addiction. Instead of going through the regular criminal court process, eligible people can go through a drug court program that focuses on treatment and recovery. This naming section itself does not set out rules for how drug courts work. It just establishes the title used to refer to the entire set of laws that follow.
