§ 5 Writing includes printing.

When Oklahoma's criminal procedure laws use the word "writing," this includes anything that is printed, not just handwritten text. So if a rule requires something to be "in writing," a typed or printed document counts just as well as something written by hand.

This matters because many legal rules require certain documents, notices, or records to be "in writing." Without this clarification, someone might argue that a printed document doesn't meet that requirement. This rule makes clear that printed materials satisfy any legal requirement calling for something to be written down.
