§ 661 Right of exemption from service not cause for challenge.

If someone qualifies for an exemption from jury duty, that doesn't mean lawyers can automatically remove them from the jury pool. Being exempt just means that person has the choice to skip jury duty if they want to. It's their personal right to use or ignore.

In other words, if someone with an exemption shows up and is willing to serve, no one can kick them off the jury just because they technically didn't have to be there. The exemption only matters if the person decides to use it to get out of serving. If they don't use it, the case moves forward like normal, and they can be considered for the jury just like anyone else.
