§ 706 Issuing subpoenas for trial.

The district attorney has the power to issue subpoenas to bring witnesses to court for a criminal trial. This means the prosecutor can legally require someone to show up and testify if they have information related to a case being tried in court.

This power applies to witnesses located anywhere within the state. The subpoena works the same way whether the case started with an indictment (charges filed by a grand jury) or an information (charges filed directly by the prosecutor). Either way, the district attorney has the authority to make sure witnesses appear when needed to support the case.
