§ 726 Short title.

This rule simply gives an official name to a law. That name is the "Uniform Act to Secure the Attendance of Witnesses from Without a State in Criminal Proceedings." Whenever this law is mentioned in court documents or discussions, this is the title used to refer to it.

The law itself deals with getting witnesses to come testify in a criminal case when they live in a different state. This short title rule does not explain how that process works. It just sets up the name that courts, lawyers, and other legal documents will use when talking about the law.
