§ 858 Defendant admitted to bail may be committed during trial.

If you paid bail to stay out of jail while waiting for trial, you might still end up back in custody once your trial starts. This rule gives the judge the power to order you taken into custody at any point after you show up for trial, even though you already posted bail.

The judge doesn't need a special reason tied to something you did wrong. It's simply a decision the judge can make based on their own judgment about the case. Once that order is given, the officer in charge must take you into custody and hold you there until the judge decides otherwise or the case is resolved.

This means posting bail doesn't guarantee you'll stay free through the entire trial. The judge keeps the authority to change that arrangement once the trial is underway.
