Judges must treat everyone in their courtroom fairly, no matter who they are. This means not favoring one side over the other and making decisions based only on the law and facts of the case, not personal opinions or outside pressure.

Judges also need to know the law well and keep learning as it changes. They should stay current on legal rules and handle their cases with the skill the job requires.

Being diligent means judges must handle cases promptly and not let them sit without action. People deserve to have their legal matters resolved in a reasonable amount of time, and judges are responsible for keeping their court's work moving forward efficiently.
