Rule 2.4 External Influences on Judicial Conduct

Judges have to make decisions based on the law and the facts of the case, not on outside pressure. This means a judge can't change a ruling because the public is angry about it or because they're worried about getting criticized in the news or on social media.

It also means judges have to keep their personal life separate from their work on the bench. Family ties, friendships, political relationships, or money interests are not allowed to affect how a judge handles a case or what decision they make.

Finally, judges can't let anyone believe they have special access or pull. If someone claims they can influence a judge because of a connection or relationship, the judge has to shut that down. This rule exists so people can trust that court decisions are based on the law, not on who you know or how loud you complain.
