Rule 4.3 Activities of Candidates for Appointive Judicial Office

If you want to become a judge through appointment instead of an election, this rule tells you what you're allowed to do to pursue that goal. You can talk directly with the people or groups who decide on the appointment. This includes any commission or committee set up to screen, select, or nominate candidates for the judge position.

You're also allowed to ask people or organizations to publicly support your bid for the position. The one limit is that you can't seek support from a partisan political group, meaning an organization tied to a specific political party. This keeps the process focused on qualifications rather than party politics.
