Rule 1 Scope and Authority of Rules

These rules explain how county law libraries are run, but they only apply to counties with fewer than 300,000 people. If a county has more people than that, these particular rules don't cover its law library.

The rules also make clear that the Oklahoma Supreme Court and its Chief Justice always keep their full authority. Even though these rules set up general guidelines for managing law libraries, the Supreme Court can still step in and make decisions on specific situations whenever needed. Nothing in these rules can take away that power.
