Sec 4.1 Approved Law School Internship Programs

Law schools in Oklahoma can set up internship programs that let students work as Licensed Legal Interns under the state Supreme Court's rules. These programs count as part of the school's regular classes and coursework.

There are two ways a school can run these programs. First, the school's own faculty can directly supervise students, and this type of program can also include Academic Legal Interns. Second, practicing attorneys can directly supervise the students day to day, while law school faculty provide oversight from a distance.

For students, this means they can get hands on legal experience while still in school, working either closely with their professors or out in the field with real attorneys. Either way, the law school stays involved to make sure the training meets the required standards.
