Sec 7.4 Licensed Legal Intern Signature and Identification of Status

If a legal intern helps prepare a court document like a pleading, motion, or brief, they can't file it with just their own signature. Their supervising attorney has to sign it too before it goes to the court. This means the intern's work always has a licensed attorney backing it up on paper.

Legal interns also can't call themselves attorneys or let anyone believe they are one. Whether they're talking to a client, a judge, or anyone else connected to a case, they need to make it clear they are a Licensed Legal Intern, not a full attorney. This applies to both spoken conversations and written communication.

This rule protects clients and the court by making sure everyone knows who is actually handling their legal matter. It keeps things honest and makes sure a fully licensed attorney is always supervising the intern's work.
