Rule Text
On or before February 15th of each year, every active and senior member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, shall report in such form as the MCLEC shall prescribe concerning his or her completion of accredited legal education for the current year or exemption from the requirements of these rules.

Every active or senior lawyer in the Oklahoma Bar Association has a yearly deadline to check. By February 15th, each lawyer must turn in a report showing they finished their required legal education classes for the year. The report has to be filled out using whatever form the MCLEC (the group that oversees this education requirement) has set up.
If a lawyer does not need to take these classes because they qualify for an exemption, they still have to file a report by the same date. This report simply explains why they are excused from the requirement that year.
This rule matters because it keeps lawyers accountable for staying current on their legal training. Missing the February 15th deadline or failing to report properly can create problems for a lawyer's standing with the bar, so it is something attorneys need to handle every year without fail.
