(1) These rules apply to all disciplinary and contested reinstatement proceedings initiated by the service of a formal complaint or statement of objections on a respondent or an applicant on or after January 1, 1984.
(2) The provisions of BR 1.5(1) apply except to the extent that in the opinion of the Supreme Court their application in a particular matter or proceeding would not be feasible or would work an injustice. In that event, the former or current rule most consistent with the fair and expeditious resolution of the matter or proceeding under consideration shall be applied.
