§ 135.660 Judgment on demurrer; entry in register

When a defendant challenges a criminal charge through a demurrer, the judge has to make a decision on it. The judge either agrees with the challenge or rejects it. There's no middle ground here, the court has to pick one side.

Once the judge decides, this decision gets written down in the official court record, called the register. This creates a clear paper trail showing what the judge decided and when. This record matters because it becomes part of the case history and can affect what happens next in the case, including whether either side wants to appeal the decision.
