§ 135.990 Penalties

If someone breaks the rule in ORS 135.155, the court can punish them for contempt. This means the same court handling the criminal case against the defendant is also the court that decides on the punishment.

In simple terms, this rule does not create a new crime. Instead, it says that if someone violates ORS 135.155, they can be held in contempt of court. The judge already in charge of the criminal case is the one who has the power to issue that punishment.
