§ 137.893 Innovative Grant Fund

This rule sets up a special fund called the Innovative Grant Fund. The money in this fund is kept separate from the state's General Fund, so it can only be used for one specific purpose: giving out grants through the Innovative Grant Program.

The Oregon Criminal Justice Commission controls this money and can spend it on grants without needing to ask for approval each time. This is because the law already gives the commission ongoing permission to use the funds for this purpose.

The money in the fund comes from the state legislature. Lawmakers decide how much money to put into the fund, and that money is set aside specifically to support the grant program described in a related law, ORS 137.890.
