§ 146.730 Investigation

When someone gets hurt and the reason isn't clear or seems suspicious, a medical examiner or district attorney has the power to look into it. They don't need special permission to start an investigation if the circumstances around an injury raise questions.

This rule gives these officials broad authority to do their jobs. They can use all the powers given to them under related Oregon laws to figure out what really happened. This might include gathering evidence, talking to witnesses, or reviewing medical records connected to the injury.
