Rule Text

Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)

This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.

This section of Oregon law is no longer in effect. It was originally added in 1999, but the state legislature repealed it in 2011.

Because this rule has been repealed, it does not apply to any current criminal cases. If you're looking at older court documents or case law that mention this rule, keep in mind that it was on the books at the time but is no longer valid law today. You'll want to check current Oregon criminal procedure rules to find out what law applies now.

If you're researching a case that involves events from before 2011, this rule might still be relevant to understanding what the law was at that time. For anything happening today, though, this specific rule no longer has any legal effect.
