Rule 15 Hearing Additional Evidence

If a judge's case is still open before the Commission, the Commission can decide to hold another hearing to collect more evidence. This can happen at any point while the case is being reviewed. The Commission will set a specific date, time, and location for this hearing, and it will spell out exactly what topics or issues the new evidence needs to cover.

The judge and their attorney must be told about this hearing well in advance. The Commission has to mail them a copy of the hearing order at least 30 days before the hearing takes place. This gives everyone enough time to prepare.

If the Commission already assigned masters (special officers who help review the case) to handle the matter, those masters will run this additional hearing instead of the full Commission. When masters handle it, they have to follow the same procedures laid out in Rules 13 and 14, which cover how hearings are generally conducted.
