Rule 24 Joinder of Claims

If you are filing a complaint in this court, you can include more than one claim against the other side in the same lawsuit. These claims can be separate issues, or they can be backup options in case one of your claims does not work out. This gives you flexibility to raise everything you need to in one case, instead of filing multiple lawsuits.

There are two conditions you have to follow, though. First, each claim needs to be written out on its own, clearly separated from the others, so the court and the other side can tell exactly what you are claiming. Second, all the claims you combine need to belong in the same location for trial. You cannot bundle claims together if they would need to be heard in different places.
