Rule 1.130 Time Computation

When you need to figure out a deadline in these rules, you use the same method found in ORCP 10. This means you don't count time in some special or different way just because a rule falls under this set of court rules.

In practice, this means the day an event happens or a document is filed usually doesn't count as day one. Instead, you start counting from the next day. Weekends and legal holidays can affect the final deadline too, depending on how ORCP 10 spells it out.

The main point is consistency. Instead of creating a new way to count days for every rule, courts and people filing paperwork can rely on one standard method. This helps avoid confusion about when something is due and keeps deadlines predictable across different types of cases.
