Rule 13.150 Subpoena

If you're involved in an arbitration case, either your attorney or the arbitrator can issue a subpoena. This is a legal order that requires a witness to show up at the hearing or requires someone to bring specific documents or records to the hearing.

This follows the same basic process used in regular Oregon civil court cases. So if you need a witness to testify or need someone to hand over paperwork as evidence, this rule gives your attorney the power to make that happen without waiting for the arbitrator to do it. The arbitrator also has this same power, in case they see a need for certain testimony or documents to be part of the hearing.

This matters because it means you have a way to get evidence and witnesses in front of the arbitrator, even if the person isn't willing to show up or hand over documents on their own. It puts some legal weight behind the request.
