Rule 8.110 Limited Scope Representation (Repealed)

This rule no longer exists. It used to cover situations where a lawyer agreed to help someone with only part of their court case, instead of handling the whole thing from start to finish. This is sometimes called "limited scope representation."

The rule was removed on August 1, 2017. On that same date, a different rule, UTCR 5.170, took its place. That new rule now covers limited scope representation in family law cases, like divorce or custody matters. So anyone looking for information on this topic should check UTCR 5.170 instead of this one.
