Rule 2114 Statement of Jurisdiction

When you file an appeal in Pennsylvania, you must include a section that explains why the appeals court has the power to hear your case. This section is called the Statement of Jurisdiction.

You need to point to the exact law, court rule, or other legal authority that gives the appeals court permission to review your case. A general reference is not enough. You must cite the specific source, such as a particular statute or rule number.
