Rule 3111 Prothonotary

The prothonotary is the official clerk of an appellate court in Pennsylvania. Each appellate court picks its own prothonotary, and that person can be removed from the job at any time if the court decides to let them go.

The prothonotary handles the court's official paperwork and records. If you file documents with an appellate court, the prothonotary's office is where those documents go.
