Rule 3733 Rotation of Assignments

When a case needs to be assigned to a judge, the court tries to spread the work evenly by rotating assignments among all the judges. This means judges take turns receiving new cases rather than one judge getting all of a certain type of case.

The court follows this rotation as much as possible, but it is not always perfect. If a judge already has a heavy workload, or if the President Judge has special duties to handle, the strict rotation may be adjusted to keep things running smoothly.
