Plain-English Summary (for reference only — not a substitute for the rule text above)
This summary is not the rule. The rule text controls.
Replevin is a type of lawsuit used when someone wants to get back personal property that another person is holding. The process for this kind of case follows the same basic steps as any other civil lawsuit in Pennsylvania.
Unless the replevin rules say something different, everything from filing the case to getting a final judgment works the same way as a standard civil case. This means the same rules about filing papers, serving the other party, and going through the court process all apply.
