Rule 1146 Pleading More Than One Cause of Action

A plaintiff filing a mortgage foreclosure case can list multiple reasons why they believe they have the right to foreclose. For example, they might point to a missed payment, a broken loan agreement, or other problems with the mortgage.

However, all of those reasons must lead to one single legal claim: foreclosure. The plaintiff cannot bundle other types of lawsuits into the same complaint. The case stays focused on whether the foreclosure should happen, nothing more.
