Rule 1535 Objections to Security

If a judge required someone to pay a bond or put up some form of security in a case, that does not have to be the final word. Any party in the case can go to court and ask a judge to change things.

A judge can raise or lower the amount of security required, throw out a bond that was filed incorrectly, or allow someone to swap out one type of security for another. If a substitution is approved, the original security is released.

To make any of these changes happen, a party must file a petition with the court. The judge will then notify everyone involved and hold a hearing before making a decision.
