When these rules took effect, they applied to all cases already in progress, not just new ones.

If you had already filed paperwork in your case before the new rules came into effect, the court has options. It can let your case continue using the old paperwork you already filed. Or, if the situation calls for it, the court can ask you to file updated or additional paperwork to bring your case in line with the new rules.
