Rule 1657 Joinder of Causes of Action Prohibited

If you are filing a lawsuit to get a court judgment on a mechanics lien claim, you cannot combine it with other types of lawsuits in the same case. You must keep that action separate from any other legal claims you might have.

There is one exception to this rule. If the property or improvement involved sits in more than one county, and lien claims have been filed in several of those counties, you can combine all those claims into one single lawsuit.
