Rule 1920.11 Pleadings Allowed

In a divorce case in Pennsylvania, there are strict limits on what written documents you can file with the court. You cannot file just any type of legal document you want.

The documents you are allowed to file include the basic pleadings listed in Rule 1017, a bill of particulars (which is a detailed breakdown of claims or financial information), and any petition allowed under Pennsylvania's Divorce Code along with a response to that petition.

If you try to file something outside of these allowed documents, the court may reject it. Keeping the paperwork limited helps move divorce cases forward without unnecessary back-and-forth filings.
