Rule 1940.9 Effective Date

Mediation programs that were already running in local courts before October 29, 1999 can keep operating the way they were set up, even if they work differently from the statewide rules.

If a local court wants to make any changes to its existing mediation program after that date, those changes must follow the statewide rules. So older programs are protected as they are, but they cannot update or expand without matching the current standards.
