If you are involved in a lawsuit in Pennsylvania, you can formally ask the other party to state in writing whether they are an adult or a minor. This written statement is called an affidavit, and it becomes part of the official court record.
This matters because minors are treated differently in court cases. They often need a guardian or other representative to act on their behalf. Knowing the other party's age helps make sure the case moves forward the right way.
