Rule 2954 Judgment in Name of Holder, Assignee or Transferee

When a court case ends with a money judgment, the judgment must be recorded in the name of the person or company that currently owns the debt or claim. This means if the original person who was owed money sold or transferred that right to someone else, the judgment gets recorded under the new owner's name, not the original one.

For example, if a bank sold your debt to a collection company before going to court, any judgment would be entered in the collection company's name. The person or business listed on the judgment must be the one who actually holds the right to collect.
