Rule 3020 Definition

When a court orders someone to pay money, that order is called a "judgment" under these rules. This includes all kinds of court orders related to money, whether they are final decisions or temporary orders, and even orders to pay court costs.

These rules apply to judgments from any court that follows Pennsylvania's civil procedure rules. However, there is one exception: if the judgment is against the state government or a local government (like a county or city), these rules do not apply to collecting that money.
