Rule 3258 Property claim

If someone else's belongings get caught up in a sheriff's levy against a defendant, the owner of those belongings can use this form to say "that property is mine, not theirs." The form lets the real owner list what was taken and explain how they got ownership of it.

This is basically a way to protect innocent people whose property might get seized because of someone else's debt or legal trouble. The owner has to describe each item, give its value, and explain how they came to own it.
