Rule 3289 Service

When you file a petition, you must deliver a copy to the other side. The way you do this follows the same method described in Rule 440, which covers how legal papers are served on other parties in a civil case.

After you serve the petition, you need to show the court that it was done. You do this by filing proof of service following the steps in Rule 405, which explains how to document that the other party received the papers.
