Rule 1500 Summons for the Dispositional Hearing

When a judge schedules a dispositional hearing in a juvenile case, the court can require certain people to show up. A summons is an official notice that tells someone they must appear in court.

The court can also directly order whoever is taking care of the child to bring the child to the hearing. This could be a parent, guardian, or another adult who has the child living with them.

The court must follow the standard summons rules already spelled out in Rule 1124. Those rules cover how a summons must be prepared and delivered to the people involved.
