Rule 335 Withdrawal of Petition

If the prosecutor wants to drop the case against a juvenile, they can do so by withdrawing the petition. This is the formal document that started the case in the first place.

To make the withdrawal official, the prosecutor must file paperwork with the clerk of courts. Once that happens, the case is dropped.
