Rule 10.1 Forms

This rule deals with official forms used in Register of Wills matters across Pennsylvania. It says that Registers must accept the standard forms approved by the state Supreme Court. These are the official forms listed in the Appendix to the rules.

The rule also allows some flexibility. A form does not have to look exactly like the original as long as it has the same content and lists that content in the same order. This means someone can change the style or layout of a form, like fonts or spacing, but they cannot change what information is included or move sections around into a different order.

In short, if you are filing paperwork with the Register of Wills, you need to use the approved form or a version that matches it word for word and section by section. Registers cannot refuse a form just because it looks a little different, but they can reject it if the content is missing, changed, or rearranged.
