Rule 3.8 Headings of Responsive Pleadings

When you file a response to another person's court document, your response must clearly say in the heading what document you are responding to. For example, if someone files a petition and you are responding to it, your heading should identify that petition by name.

This keeps the court record clear and helps the judge and other parties understand exactly what each document is responding to. Without this, paperwork can get confusing, especially in cases that involve multiple filings.
