Rule 5.14 Designation of a Successor Custodian

If someone needs to name a new custodian to manage property or money that was given to a minor under Pennsylvania law, they must file a petition with the court. That petition needs to follow the same basic rules as a petition to appoint a guardian for a minor's finances.

The petition should include as much of the same information as possible that would appear in a guardianship petition. This means providing details about the minor, the property involved, and why a new custodian is needed.
