Rule 1102 Amendments

Only the South Carolina Supreme Court has the power to change these evidence rules. No other court or group can update, add to, or remove these rules on its own.

This matters because it keeps the rules for handling evidence in court consistent across the whole state. If a rule needs to be changed or updated, the request has to go through the Supreme Court. This process helps make sure any changes are carefully reviewed before they become official.
