When a case involves experts who disagree with each other, the judge has an option to change the normal order in which evidence gets presented at trial. Instead of following the usual step-by-step process, the judge can rearrange things so the expert testimony makes more sense to the jury. The goal is to help jurors follow complicated or technical information more easily.
This only happens if every side in the case agrees to it. The judge cannot force this change on the parties. If both sides are willing, the court has flexibility to present the experts' testimony in a way that is easier to understand, rather than sticking to the standard order used in most trials.
